We, the Fireside Fiddlers, play by-ear in session every Monday evening at Harrys place, telephone (61 3) 9870 8998.
Mostly we popularise Australian heritage tunes as in (1, 1a) below, together with well known world tunes, (2) below and VFMC dance/session tunes (3) below.
We are also buskers, perform at garden parties and operate Waltzing Matilda marionettes for the children during shows.
Tunes may be learnt from this web page either by (a) playing along with MP3s of simulated instruments here on line or (b) downloading and slowing further at the same pitch with freeware such as http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/ . Never look at the dots, please, except to clarify some issue! This is folk music to be learnt and played by ear.
