A Gum Tree Canoe
From Mrs J. Wilson of Saint Arnaud, Victoria. According to research by VFMC member, Bruce Fraser, the tune is clearly derived from an American tune of the same name composed by S.S. Steele, 1847. However both the melody and the lyrics have been altered significantly in the Australian version below. (Other Australian versions are also known.)
