Wattle Day is a day to celebrate all things Australian. To stimulate an interest in music the Victorian Folk Music Club inc is presenting a day of music related workshops and sessions on Saturday 2nd September. Each workshop lasts an hour and you can attend as many as you like.

Sea Shanty Singalong with Tony O'Neil and friends Tony and the Enterprie Shanty Band will lead us all in singing traditional Maritime work songs. |
Australian Dance Music with Trish and John, Denise and Richard Trish Williams and John Tomlin from Tasmania, with Denise Hibbs and Richard Ayling will run a participatory playing session. Bring your instruments or come and watch if preferred. Will also be available via Zoom |

Community Singing with Cora Browne An experienced community choir leader and current singing tutor at the annual Lake School of Celtic Music, Song and Dance, Cora has many years of experience leading community song. Bring yourself, your water bottle and your curiosity and join in the fun that is song and sound making in a group. We will pull from several genres to create our joyful noise. No prior experience is necessary to join in. All welcome! |

Australian Songs Singalong with Ray and Joan Mundy and friends Enjoy a session of singing traditional and contemporary Australian songs. |
Slow tune playing session with Kate and Don Kate Cotrill and Don Fraser will introduce some great tune playing at a moderate tempo. All instruments are welcome. |

Jolly Swagman Dance Workshop with Norm Ellis A fun selection of dances to welcome in the Spring, to delight the seasoned dancer and novice alike. Norm is one of Victoria's leading folk dance callers, and a long time organiser in the Traditional Social Dance Association of Victoria. |
Blackboard Session A walk-up open mic session of your choices. Just put your name on the board and your’re in. 10 minutes per act. |

In the evening the Blackberry Jam Bush Band will host the monthly Family Bush Dance. The Bush Dance admission is $10 members, $12 general, kids free. |
